Bobby and Susan Williams with Plano West Captains during a pre-game ceremony honoring Coach "Boots" Williams, who lost his battle with cancer in September.
Coach "Boots" Williams Honored
On January 5th, prior to the Varsity team's game vs. Arlington, Coach "Boots" Williams was remembered in a pre-game ceremony. Coach's wife, Susan, and son, Bobby, were on hand to receive framed patches that have been worn this season by Plano West players. Coach Boots lost his battle with cancer on September 14th.
The patches contain the phrase that Coach Boots made sure all of the players he influenced live by daily, "Humble in Victory, Gracious in Defeat".
The Williams family was presented by Varsity Senior captain, Patrick Snell and Junior Assistant Captains, Bryson Boulanger, Jake Turner and Matt Levene.
Coach Boots was a wonderful, positive influence on many young hockey players across the metroplex and will be sorely missed by all. The Wolves of Plano West are thankful that he was a part of our family and will miss his presence.
